The airport (which is only stones throw away from Mouse Island) there is a small wall stretching across the nearby lake in line with airports final approach. A walk along here has a commanding view of all arriving and departing aircraft flying right over the tops of your heads. You will not get closer than this to any aircraft.
The tavernas up the hill do a good line in Sticky Buns and Tea for those in need of refreshment.
Another good trip to take is route up to Mount Pandkrator (at around 900 metres above sea level) There is a small taverna up there which serves very nice Baklava and cold beer! Not too far away the oldest village on the Island of Corfu,
Perithia.
