Two weeks in Kontokali Bay hotel on half board? I wasn't sure about it, would we be bored after the first week and wish we were heading home after seven days? The answer is absolutely not, we have just had a fabulous holiday at the Kontokali Bay, only marred by the rainy weather in the second week. On arrival we were warmly welcomed by the reception staff and upgraded to a family suite, two large modern rooms divided by sliding doors with a double width balcony, the sea being only a stone's throw away. We looked out onto a sparkling sea, a couple of pretty islands, and a distant Corfu town

The hotel staff were wonderful - friendly, efficient and happy! Food in the restaurant was varied and plentiful - I particularly enjoyed the greek salads and desserts! We were very impressed by Vassilis and Kostas, the restaurant Maitre d's, both immaculate in attire and attention to detail. Their professionalism is on a par with that of a top London hotel. Their ready smiles and friendliness made each restaurant visit a delight! Kostas in particular welcomed us like old friends, and was very helpful. The bar staff were mainly very good, although not all were friendly and responsive to guests.

The pool and beach areas were well maintained, plenty of comfortable sunbeds and incredibly quiet and peaceful, no traffic noise to disturb your reading or snoozing. The mouth-watering smell of barbecued fish and meat at lunchtime was hard to ignore, even though we'd only just finished breakfast! We enjoyed this holiday at Kontokali Bay Hotel and Corfu more than we could ever have imagined, and are already looking forward to a return visit
