Travellers Advice on Escape Resort Blue Bay | Corfu
|
Escape Resort Blue Bay hotel is ideally positioned, overlooking golden sands and the beautiful Ionian Sea, this modern complex offers superb entertainment, including mountain biking (payable locally), and is a great choice for families. The hotel is of a very high standard and accomodation is excellent. The hotel also owns the small beach nearby, and for 2 euros loungers can be hired. The sea is shallow out quite a way and good for kids, there is some seaweed to walk through , but thats a small price to pay for warm sea |

Re: Graet hotel shame about the mozzies !
by NOBBYSussex on Oct 2008 | Overal Rating of Escape Resort Blue Bay Hotel: 8/10
After reading the reports of this hotel we were not to sure what to expect. Overall i think Escape Blue Bay hotel is well worth its 4
star rating it was just a shame about the mozzies and wasps and yes there are millions of both and they are a major problem in this and the ajoining resorts, i have never seen as many people with bites as i saw on this holiday, the problem aparantly comes from the nearby lake we were told, the travel company and the hotel management just bury there heads in the sand about the problem no mention at the welcome meeting you are just left to your own devices and get bitten alive from the moment you arrive its a shame the hotel is not more proactive about the problem even the rep cracked a joke about it on the way back to the airport,(this was the first time it was mentioned by the rep) it seems it was particily bad the weeks we were there due to a bit of rain and then very hot weather, if you are going take all precautions with you and dont assume the problem will not be there as it is a massive MASSIVE problem. Now for the other bits the food was very good, animation team were very good the hotel was very clean we were lucky as we had a suite between 2 of us with a pool and sea view across to Albania, the staff serving the drinks are always up agaist it but i find this normal for all inclusive so you have to order a double round at a time as by the theatre they only serve in plastic cups 2 of these make a half pint i think they keep the staff to a minimum, Escape Blue Bay Resort is a bit out of the way but it is ideal for a two week stay by the pool and beach there are a couple of bars nearby as long as you dont mind sharing your drinks with the mozzies yes it is that bad, there is a local travel agent that does the excursions much cheaper than the travel company and he also does car or bike hire and he is English and very helpfull, i would go here again but i would take better precautions againt the mozzies.

Re: Good and clean hotel !
by Martin on June 2008 | Overal Rating of Escape Resort Blue Bay Hotel: 9/10
We have just returned from the Blue Bay Escape, St Spyridon, Corfu, (June 20th-28th, 2008) and I can only say what a great holiday we had. The Hotel is clean & spacious. The food is good and plentiful. The pool is quite big and overlooks the sea with great views across the Med of the Albanian coast. If I was to be picky the only negatives I could come up with is the mosquito's at night (there are lots so you will get bitten) and the cats (there is a small group of our furry friends living on the resort, but seem to cause no problems) The staff are friendly enough with plenty of silly games through out the day (darts, water gym, water polo, volley ball, football) There are only a couple of local bars within walking distance, so the area is fairly quiet but the hotel has basic (and I mean basic) entertainment in Corfu Escape resort Blue Bay Hotel nightly, but hey it was not too bad.

Re: Just got back from the Corfu blue bay !
by Loolabelle on Sept2008 | Overal Rating of Escape Resort Blue Bay Hotel: 6/10
Got back from the blue bay two days ago now and really enjoyed it. Arrived at the hotel about midnight after a very scary taxi ride. If you decide to get a taxi make sure your wear a seat belt the Greeks drive like loons! When we got to Escape Blue Bay Hotel we was welcomed by the receptionist who’s English was very good, he called a member of staff to take our luggage to our bedrooms for us. All of the buildings are named after a James bond theme; we stayed in “Jinx” which makes it easier to find your room. Our room was basic, 2 single beds, balcony, TV, safe decent sized bathroom (You cant flush any paper down the loo which I don't think is very hygienic you have to put the toilet paper in a little bin that gets changed every day).
Breakfast was ok something for everybody, try to avoid the scrambled egg its sort of a yellow mush. The of Escape Blue Baystaff there bought your tea and coffee round for you which was nice but sometimes you have to wait a while, one morning I had finished my breakfast before they got to me. Lunch is served by the swimming pool; this was always nice. lots of salad different fish chicken and pork dishes. Dinner was back at the main restaurant some nights this was abit disappointing for example the hotel has themed nights, I was looking forward to the Greek night try some traditional food but there wasn’t even any mosaka or olives. The oriental evening was nice there was some Chinese, Indian and Thai. People were moaning about the staff being rude but what do you expect if you are rude to them then they will be rude back. If you smile say please and thank you they are lovely. A few of them had to work stupid hours, some are there for breakfast which starts at 8:30 and are still there at midnight because they are working in the pool bar. The animation team was fun this year they were from Bulgaria I thing they change every year they all worked had to keep everybody happy, water gym, water polo, football, darts, volley ball evening entertainment and of course bingo bingo benga!!! Before I went I was a bit worried about the wasps and mozzies but to be honest they’re not as bad as people make out. I got 3 mosquito bites and so did my boyfriend, at Escape Resort Blue Bay hotel shop they sell citronella candles just put 1 under your table and you will be fine! The wasps are annoying more than anything always hover around the drinks machine the pool bar staff sometimes lit coffee which helped. we went for a lovely meal and the “Amos” bar go out the bottom gate and turn right the owner lets you go there to hang around the pool during the day and serves lunch. In the evenings if there is something you would like whach on tv he will happily put it on for you. Lovely well cooked food and its so cheap for what you get. Aqua land is good DO NOT book it at the hotel go out the bottom gate and turn left there is a shop there that sells tickets for 30 euros per person if you do it via the hotel it is 55 euros. I think it was a lovely relaxing break away would recommend it for families and people who want to chill out with lovely views of Albania and the turquise sea trips to do near by worth getting the shuttle bus to Kassiopi lovely little harbour.

Re: Escape to a beautiful, relaxing resort !
by DebbieSusan on May 2007 | Overal Rating of Escape Resort Blue Bay Hotel: 7/10
Great place to stay - beautiful views - large accomodation kept immaculate by cleaners - food pretty good - staff friendly - animation team worked really hard to get us all together in games and quizzes and just having fun with us! We were a bit worried before we went about the insects and cats that everybody seemed to be concerned about but for our week in May there were far to few insects or cats to be worried about at all and the temperature was at least mid-twenties at hottest. We had a really good week and didnt see much of our 11 year old son because there was so much for him to do! The lunch time meal was served under cover at the pool area which was really good and in the evening it was nice to get dressed and go to the main restaurant where we were seated at our table and caraffes of wine were brought to the table. All in all Escape Resort Blue Bay Hotel a lovely place in Corfu, great holiday - no complaints from us! Debbie, Kevin, Nathan (18) and Matthew (11).
