Blue Diamond Studios Reviews - Travelers Advice on Blue Diamond in St George
Small, friendly and family-run, the Blue Diamond Studios are the perfect tonic from the stresses and strains of home. With the
beach easily seen from your sunbed, the toughest decision you'll need to make each day is whether to venture down the short distance to the beach or stay here by the pool. Should you opt for the latter, you'll also benefit from the fabulous, and locally renowned, pool bar serving drinks and snacks all day long. If you fancy upping the ante though, the nearby beach offers watersports. And come the evenings and you're also just a gentle stroll to the nearest restaurant and the centre of St George South. In fact, this really is just the ticket for some wonderfully understated downtime in the sun – complete with all the amenities you could need close at hand

Re: very clean and we were looked after well

Just returned on Friday 15th September 2007 and would like to tell everyone who is thinking about, or going to Blue Diamond that our group of six people were made very welcome and apartments were central to all the local restaurants. The apartments were kept very clean and we were looked after well. In my opinion Blue Diamond Studios was the best looking building in the resort with beautiful gardens surrounding the poolside. The on-site cafe bar caters for all your tea, coffee, drinks and snacks if you wish to spend the day by the pool. Plenty of restaurants to choose from, you can eat somewhere different every day and night.
Lots of small convenience supermarkets stock all you require on your hols. Lagoudia Bar was the liveliest. Issos beach was very windy at times but if you take the time to walk further round the bay to the dunes the sea is beautiful and its less windy. Excursions were 10 euros each to Corfu Town but Thomson were charging double. Day out on quad bikes is well worth it to explore further afield. Please take the trouble to visit Agryrades village. If you want to visit the Lake Korission you will need to do lots of walking.

I have just returned from a week's self catering holiday at The Blue Diamond in St George South (Agios Giorgios) in Corfu. We were there from the 22nd September to the 30th. We had a package deal with Thomson, through a site called www.takemetogreece.co.uk. We paid £458 for two of us, this is including the taxes and hidden charges they always add. We booked over the phone and received our confirmation a few days later, and tickets came 2 weeks before we left. St George South is a small resort on the south coast of the island. There are two sandy beaches, one 5 mins walk to the right of the Blue Diamond, and the other 15 mins in the other direction. Both are quite small but not too overcrowded. The beach opposite the Blue Diamond is rocky. The weather was great for most of the time, but for three days we had storms. St George is a resort where everything is on one road, so no problems finding your way around! There are plenty of places to eat and supermarkets.
The Blue Diamond has 24 studio rooms. We arrived at night to a comfortable room with two single beds, which most people push together. There is a small bathroom with a shower. The bathroom is tiled out in quite slippery tiles. The shower tray also has no grip to it, so you have to be very careful when you shower. My boyfriend slipped and hurt his leg, and we read reports of someone going to hospital after slipping. As long as you are aware of this it is OK but we didn't realise the showers could be dangerous. You always need to put a towel on the floor when you get out as well. There is a swimming pool at the front of the Blue Diamond, which is a reasonable size. There are loungers around the pool which are free to use, and parasols without charge as well. One thing a lot of people didn't like is there are no cushions on the loungers. I didn't mind as i just used a towel, but some people bought lilos to put on the loungers. There are boat trips you can go on that leave from opposite the blue diamond, but unfortunatly the weather turned bad so we couldn't go on one. A useful website to look at is:www.stgeorgesouth.bravehost.com.

Re: Fantastic location very peaceful and quiet

Apartments most suited to couples. Fantastic location on main road at end of resort but very peaceful and quiet. Plenty sunbeds available anytime of day - staff great who can't do enough for you. Dimitris and his wife (owners) personally show you to your rooms on arrival and sort out you safe hire etc. Within a few minutes walk of plenty restaurants and bars. Great pizza place right opposite with fantastic sea views and very reasonable prices. Must mention Seagull Restaurant (overlooking the sea - a little pricey but excelent food wine) and The Balcony Restaurant (more suited to families but again great, reasonably priced food and excellent service). Would recommend Blue Diamond Studios and resort to couples looking for a quiet holiday with friendly bars and restaurants. Fantastic beach of St George 10 mins walk to the left of the studios - spotless clean and gently shelving soft sand.. We will definatley go back to The Blue Diamond Studios as we could not fault the studios or location. Another bonus was a full sized fridge in each room and excellent air con. Overall this was one of the best holidays we've had and want to book again for next year .

Re: They were all very friendly and made everyone welcome

We stayed at the Blue Diamond Studio's in early May. The weather was great although at this time of year you take your chance's. The studio's were realy good basic Greek accomadation and well situated in the resort. there were not TV's or radio's in the appartments so take your own radio. Being at the beginning of the season (second week) not everything was open. Demitri his team were brill, they fed and watered us all week with great bar food and a good variety of booze. Things were cleaned up before and you made a mess. They were all very friendly and made everyone welcome. We would stay there again. Saint Georget itself is only small you can walk from one end to the other at a slow pace in 15 mins. there are i would say 3 above average places to eat, the rest being cafe type eateries. The best being the fish restuarent at the bottom left end of the resort (can't pronounce the name it was in Greek) you can't miss it it's opposite the beach. Don't let the look of it put you of (it looks a bit ramshackled) but the food is to die for and the views were good to. One other place we ate in was Le Bistrot just opposite the appartments, the food and service were excellent. There are some area's of the resort that are either partially developed or undeveloped and spoil the overall look a bit, but if you want a slow paced relaxing break for 1 week you will go a long way to beat St George's South
