Archeological Museum:
Contains sculptures, ceramics, and other archeological findings, mainly from the Archaic period.
The most important exhibit is the pediment of the Gordon (580 B.C) from the archaic temple of Artemis.
It is the oldest large sculptured pediment in existance.
Byzantine Museum (Antivouniotissa):
A collection of icons mainly of the 16th and 17th centuries , painted by important Greek post
Byzantine icon painters.
Public Library:
Contains about 75.000 volumes.
Reading Society:
Consists of a general especially valuable library, engravings, old printed material, photographs,
etc.
Ionian Bank Museum:
Contains a collection of paper money, very old samples, unique in its kind in Greece.
The Municipal Gallery:
Housed in the right-wing of the Palace of St. Michael and St. George , it contains a large and important
permanent collection of Hentanese painters as well as periodic collections of engravings, modern painting
, etc.

Museum of Asian art:
A unique collection which consists of about 12.000 pieces from countries all over the far East.
Kapodistrias Museum:
Housed in the villa of the family of John Kapodistrias (at Koukouritsa), it consists of family
furniture , paintings and momentoes from the life of that great political figure.
Historical Archive Collection:
Consists of very important archival material from the last 5 centuries, which pertain to the
history of Corfu and the other Ionian Islands.
Ionian University:
The Department of History , and translation and Interpretation, have libraries.
The Mon-Repos Museum:
In the Mon Repos estate, it contains a large variety of exhibits, presenting the long Corfu
history: archeological findings, Byzantine remainings, furniture and dresses of the British-rule
period , flower paintings and other mementoes of the Corfu history and life.
